Roscommon and District League
Round Up
The Roscommon and District League Representative side travelled to the Mc Sharry Park Sligo on Sunday where they played the Sligo / Leitrim League in the second game in this seasons Oscar Traynor Cup competition. Overall it was a very disappointing day for the Roscommon and District League side and their hopes of advancing to the play off stages of the competition are ended. The Roscommon and District League side started well but a quick break away by the home side after eleven minutes saw them win a penalty kick which was converted.
This setback seemed to unsettle the visitors and they conceded two more before the half time break. The Roscommon and District League side were better in the second half and tested the home keeper on a few occasions. The introduction of Gerry Ward and Daniel Connolly added new life to the side but when the home side added a fourth it game as a contest all but ended.

With players involved in the Oscar Traynor Cup there was no games played in the Premier Division

In Division 1 Northern section only 3 points separate all seven teams following last weekend results.
Cloonfad United travelled to Ballaghaderreen but were beaten3 – 2 by the home side. Darragh Flynn gave Cloonfad the lead after nineteen minutes but Kyle scored for the home side within two minutes. Daniel Smyth converted a penalty kick to give Ballaghaderreen a 2 – 1 lead with sixty eight played. Dean Coyle made 2 – 2 with seventy one played but six minutes later Ben Feeney got the winner for the Ballaghaderreen second side.

Dunmore Town had a 3 – 1 win away to Kilkerrin United. Padraig Martyn gave Dunmore Town an early lead when he poked the ball past the advancing keeper. John Miskell levelled the game with fifteen played when he converted a penalty Kick. However Dunmore were back in front two minutes later when a good cross from JJ Glynn was volleyed to the Kilkerrin net by Ben Glynn.
Just before half time following a good run at the home defence Padraig Martyn won a penalty kick and he converted. The winners were reduced to ten men in the second half but good defending and a couple of great saves from their keeper Dylan Bulger saw them take all three points.
The Ballinagare / Manor Utd game v Ballymoe F C was postponed

In Division 1 South Skyvalley Rovers beat an understrength St Cuans / Ahascragh United 4 – 1 at Onagh Park Taughmaconnell.
Eoin Keogh and Michael Garvey gave Skyvalley Rovers a 2 – 0 half time lead. Darragh Moore and Shane Kelly added two more in the second half with Andre Monsanto replying for Ahascragh United

The local derby game between Rahara Rovers and St Johns Athletic finished with St Johns Athletic snatching a very late winner. In a sporting but keenly contested game St Johns scored after only five minutes of play, Ryan Dowling worked his way through the home defence and around the keeper. M J O Connor added a second for the Lecarrow side with thirty played. The home side were much better in the second half and Ryan Cox converted a penalty kick. The home side piled on the pressure and levelled the game through a Cormack Lavin header. However Ryan Dowling struck late to win the points for St Johns Athletic.

In the Reserve league Roscommon United drew 1 – 1 with Boyle Celtic
Diarmuid Mulry for the home side and Kyle Mc Namona for Boyle Celtic were the goal scorers.
Dunmore Town beat a Skyvalley Rovers side playing their first game in this Division 4 – 0 at Taughmaconnell. Daithe Reddington scored two and Kevin Varley and Shane Gehogan one each.

Ballinagare Manor United beat Shiven Rovers 5 – 0 at Newbridge earlier in the week Aaron Dowd and Jamie Burke scored two each and John Stokes added another
