In the Premier Division of the Roscommon and District League Moore United made it three wins in a row when they beat Boyle Celtic 1 – 0 in a keenely contested game at Falty Park Moore.
A super header from Steve Flynn after seventy minutes of play won all three points for a Moore United who ended any of thier remaining relegation thoughts.
Balllymoe will now play the team that finishes third in Division 1 for a place in the Premier Division next season.
In a game with nothing at stake St Johns Athletic beat a young Skyvalley Rovers side 3 – 0 at Taughmaconnell. Jamie Tiernan scored first before Jack O Beirne added two more for the winners.
The race for the Division 1 Championship is very close with Cloonfad United. Dysart and Ballaghaderreen very much in contention.

Ballaghaderreen beat Cam Celtic 6 – 1 at Ballghaderreen.Leon Sinnott scored in the opening minute and added two more before half time. Danny Browne added two more, one in each half with Patrick Callaghan making up the remainder.

Cloonfad United beat Castlerea Celtic 2 – 0 at Castlerea. Conor Flynn gave them a 1- 0 lead after twelve minutes of play and James Mc Donagh added a second with thirty three played.

In the Hanly Quarries sponsored Division 2 Manor United secured the runners up trophies and promotion to Division 1 next season following a 5- 1 home win over nearest challengers Ballinasloe Town. Michael Fogarty gave the visitors an early lead but Tom Ward scored two before half time for Manor United. The home side were well on top in the second half and Tom Ward brought his total to a staggering twenty six for the season when he scored again in the second half. Martin Ward and Niall Devney added one each for Manor to seal the Runners Up spot..

Congratulations are extended to Ballaghaderreen's second side who won the Division 2 shield after beating neares challengers Ballymoe F C 3 – 0 at Ballaghaderreen.
James Dowd gave the home side a 1- 0 lead after five minutes of play when he converted a penalty kick. Rory Callaghan added a second eleven minutes later and Cameron Lunt made sure of the win when he score a third with twelve minutes left to play.

In an entertaining game at Cloonfad the home side beat St Cuans 4 – 2. Darragh Flynn and Jack Reinhardt gave the home side a 2- 0 lead at Half time. Pat Mongan pulled a goal back for the Castleblaikney side before Daryl Geraghty restored the two goal advantage for Cloonfad.
Pat Mongan added a second for St Cuans before Jack Sullivan made sure of the win when he scored for Cloonfad with almost the last kick of the game.

Moore United drew 1 – 1 with Division 2 Champions Glen Celtic at Moore. The home side were 1 – 0 ahead at half time thanks to Andy Hussey but Willie Comer scored for the Glenamaddy side after the break

In the K F Autos sponsored Division 2 Cup Skyvalley Rovers beat Boyle Celtic in a Five goal thriller at Onagh Park Taughmaconnell. Man of the match Daid Sweeney headed two first half goals for the home side. Cian Dunne won a penalty kick early in the second half and David Sweeney scored his third from the penalty spot. Boyle Celtic never gave up and only some good saves from the home keeper Pat Maleady and strong defending from Jamie Keogh and Andrew Phelen kept the home side in front. Dermott Beggan struck twice for Boyle Celtic in the last ten minutes of the game and it was a huge relief for the home side when the competent Sean Kelly blew the final whistle.

St Johns Athletic are also through to the next round after a 6 – 1 win over bottom side St Cuans.Ryan O Beirne scored four and Jack Martin and Derek Doyle added one each for the winners.

Manor United also advanced to the next round following a hard earned 3 – 2 win over Moore United at Moore. Andy Husses game the home side an early lead before Tom Ward levelled the game before half time. Mike Carty restored the Moore lead but Tom Ward struck two more to secure a win for Manor United.

The T P Brennan Connacht Cup takes centre stage next weekend with two teams from the Roscommon and District league in action in the Quarter Finals.

Castlerea Celtic take on the Galway Premier Division side St Bernards at Castlerea at 2.00 PM on Sunday. The Abbeyknockmoy side have already knocked out the current Roscommon and District league champions St peters in the previous round at Abbeyknockmoy and are a really good side.

Castlerea Celtic beat the Mayo Premier side Conn Rangers in the previous round with Darren Clabby Gerry Ward and Jarlath Geraghty scoring in their 3 – 1 win. It will not be an easy match for castlerea Celtic but with home support they could well advance to the next round.

Ballinasloe Town face a more difficult task away to the Mayo Superleague side Westport United. The home side beat Tuam Celtic 5 – 1 on Sunday and are a very good side. Ballinasloe Town have already won this competition on three previous ocasions and while not as good as then they are still a very experienced side who love the big ocasion.
In The Previous round Ballinasloe Town beat the fancied Ballyglass side 3 – 0 at Ballyglass and could well cause a bit of an upset next Sunday at Westport.

In The Quarter Finals of the Connacht Shield Roscommon and District League Division 1 side Ballaghaderreen take on the Mayo side Kiltimagh Knock United at ballaghaderreen. The home side had an impressive win over the Galway side Mervue United “B” and have played well all season. The Mayo side beat the Castleplunket side 1 – 0 at Tarmon in an earlier round but are unlikely to beat theis talented Ballaghaderreen side on their home ground.
