The quarter-finals of the T P Brennan Connacht Cup took centre stage on Sunday but it turned out to be a poor day for the two teams from the Roscommon and District League who were hoping to make the semi-finals.
Castlerea Celtic were at home to the Galway Premier Side St Bernards but a single goal in the first half scored by Nial Martyn secured a win for St Bernards. Castlerea Celtic had some good chances but failed to capatalise.

Ballinasloe Town failed in their quest for five Connacht Cup wins when beaten 6 – 0 in the quarter-finals by a very good Westport United side at Westport. The home side were 3 – 0 up at half time and added three more after the break. Philip Keegan scored three and Darren Browne Michael O Brien and James Mc Grath added one each for Westport.

Ballaghaderreen are through to the semi-finals of the Connacht Shield following a 4 – 0 win over Kiltimagh Knock United at Ballaghaderreen. The visitors won an early penalty kick but the home keeper Dermott Horan saved.
With thirty played Patrick Callaghan got on the end of a Cian Mc Cann cross to score for Ballaghaderreen. Within a few minutes of the start of the second half Leon Sinnott made it 2 – 0 and with sixty five playe Danny Browne won and converted a penalty kick to make it 3 – 0. The same player added a fourth for the winners with two minutes left to play.

Premier Division side Shiven Rovers advanced to the third round of the Joes Bar Roscommon and District League Challenge Cup following a hard earned 2 – 1 win over Divisin 1 side Rahara Rovers at Rahara
Joe Hunt gave the Newbridge side a half time lead. Ten minutes into the second half Marchello levelled the game following a corner kick. Sam O Sullivan restored the Shiven Rovers lead with fifty six played and despite the best efforts of the Rahara side they held on for a win.

The Castleplunket side C P Ajax advance to the fourth round after beating Ballymoe 's second side 4 – 2 at Ballymoe. James Egan Darren Boyle Fergal Moylan and Gearoid Kearney scored for the Division 1 side. The evergreen John Kennedy and Oran Mc Geeney replied for Ballymoe..

In the Premier Division Cup, Castlerea Celtic advanced to the final thanks to a 4 – 0 win over Moore United at Castlerea. Darren Cabby scored two and Peter Farrell and Daniel Connolly one each. St Peters received a walk over Skyvalley Rovers.

St Johns Athletic advanced to the semi-finals and a meeting with St Peters when they beat Ballinasloe Town 2 – 0 at Ballinasloe. Brothers Chris and Tommy Hurley scored their goals.

Ballaghaderreen moved a step closer to winning the Division 1 Championship when they beat Castlerea Celtic's second side 4 – 1 at Ballaghaderreen earlier in the week. Danny Browne scored two and Thomas Greene and Christopher Dunne added one each. Frank Hestor replied for Castlerea Celtic. One win from their two remaining games is all they need to be Division 1 champions

Roscommon United reached the Final of the Norios Division 1 Cup where they will play Ballaghaderreen. In a rather hectic game they bet Cloonfad United 4 – 2 at Roscommon. Two first half headers from Dean Lyons gave Cloonfad United a 2 – 0 lead. They missed a penalty with twenty five minutes left to play and within a minute Jamie Bracken pulled a goal back for the Roscommon Town side from the penalty spot. The same player brought his total to thirty one for the season when he scored three more before the end.

In the K F Autos Division Cup, Skyvalley Rovers will play St Johns Athletic in the semi -finals following an extra time win over Cloonfad United at Taughmaconnell.
The game could have gone either way with both teams having periods of dominance. Cloonfad United took the lead after eight minutes through Darragh Flynn. Five minutes before half time Shane Naughton created an opening for Nigel Cobbins who levelled the game.
With no scores in normal time Skyvalley Rovers scored with just two minutes played in the first period of extra time. Damien Blackweir and Jack Moore released Nigel Cobbins and he scored the winner for the home side.

ST Johns Athletic beat Division 2 Champions Glen Celtic 3 – 2 at Lecarrow. Derek Doyle scored two and David Mc Donnell one to give the home side a 3 – 0 lead. Jason Connolly and P J Shanks scored two for the Glenamaddy side in the last seven minutes of the game but St Johns held on for the win.

Manor United and Ballaghaderreen will contest the other semi-final.
Division 2 runners up Manor United beat Roscommon United 4 – 3 in a thriller at Manor.
Leading goal scorer Tom Ward Louis Galvin Dylan Carbin and Jamie Burke scored for Manor United. Mike Lannon Aaron Langan and Dean Conlon replied for a much improved Town side.

Ballaghaderreen beat Ballinasloe Town 3 – 2 after extra time at Ballinasloe. Cameron Lunt opened the scoring for the winners and Chriss Collins added two more for the Ballaghadereen side.
