Roscommon & District League Round-up by Vincent Brookes.

Ballymoe F C stretched their lead at the top of the Premier Division of the Roscommon and District League to six points following a hard earned 1 – 0 win over the Brazilian side Brazukas at Ballymoe. The home side were made to battle all the way before John Connaughton volleyed a winner with just six minutes left to play.

Ballaghaderreen made it two wins in succession when they beat Ahascragh united 6 – 1 at Ballaghaderreen. The sides were well matched for the opening thirty five minutes but in the closing minutes of the first half Lee Keenan and Gerry Ward scored for Ballaghaderreen. Lee Keenan added his second before Niall Keighery pulled one back for Ahascragh from the penalty spot. In the closing minutes of the game James Horan added two more and Gerry ward one for the winners.

Skyvalley Rovers and St Johns Athletic drew 1 – 1 at Onagh Park, Taughmaconnell. Martin Lennon gave the home side and early lead and Tom Appleby levelled the game with a well struck free kick near the end of the first half.

Dysart and Cloonfad United continue to lead the Division 1 with both teams on fifteen points from their five games played. Dunmore Town are just three points further back.

Dysart beat the Castleplunket side C P Ajax 4 – 0 at Dysart. The home side struck very early in the game with Paul Higgins scoring with three played. His brother Andy added a second with ten minutes on the clock and Paul added their third fifteen minutes into the second half. Keith Waldron completed the scoring with four minutes left to play.

Cloonfad United beat Loughglynn United 3 – 0 at Cloonfad. Sean Doyle, Darren O Malley and Andy Glenn scored the goals with all three coming in the first thirty minutes of the game. An accidental knee injury to Shane Fagan spoiled the win for Cloonfad United.

Dunmore Town beat Lough Harps 2 – 1 at Dunmore. Conor Gleeson and Callum Manhire scored for Dunmore with Adrian Cregg replying for a Lough Harps side who should have take a point from the game.

Ballinasloe Town and Rahara Rovers drew 1 – 1 at Ballinasloe. The home side took the lead with seven played in the second half and Paul Flaherty won a point for Rahara Rovers when he converted a penalty kick with thirteen minutes left to play.

The Glen Celtic v Kilkerrin United game was postponed due to heavy rain.

Strokestown United continue to lead Division 2 following a 1 – 0 win over Dunmore Town at Strokestown.
Shiven Rovers beat Moylough 4 – 2 at Newbridge. Marcus Finn gave Moylough an early lead with Eric Walsh levelling the game before half time. David Kelly and Joe Horan made it 3 – 1 for the Newbridge side before Michael Kelly added a scored for Moylough. Eric Walsh sealed all three points when he scored his second for Shiven rovers.

Castlerea Celtic kept in touch with the leaders when they beat Ballinagare 8 – 0 at Castlerea. Martin Foster scored two and Paul Sharkey one to give the home side a 3 – 0 half time advantage. After the break Alan Keane Tom Byron Oisin Ward scored one each and Martin Foster two to complete the scoring.

Cam Celtic beat Cloonfad United 4 – 0 at Cam. Darren Donnelly and Mark Mc Cauley gave the winners a half time lead and Darren Donnelly and Eddie Egan added two more after the break.

Moore United beat Roscommon United 3- 1 at Falty Park Moore. Paul Mc Hugh gave the visitors and early Lead but Thomas Naughton replied for Moore before half time. Just when it looked like the game would finish all square Shane Pettit and young Liam Ryan scored two for Moore in the last two minutes of the game.

Due to players involved on the Connacht team the Premier Division games between Castlerea Celtic and Moore United and Shiven Rovers were postponed
