In the Premier Division of the Roscommon and District League Ballaghaderreen pulled off a vital win away to Ballinasloe Town and are now three points clear of Boyle Celtic with just two games left to play. Ryan Burke converted a penalty kick for Ballinasloe Town in the first half and they were in front at the break. With Ballaghaderreen reduced to ten it didn’t look good but Shairoze Akram won a penalty kick with twenty played in the second half and Danny Browne converted the resultant spot kick. With fifteen left to play Shairoze Akran crossed to the far post and Cormack Rushe headed to the Ballinasloe net off the goal post. Th winners were reduced to nine men but the held on to win all three points.

Castlerea Celtic and Moore United will contest this seasons Premier Division Cup Final following wins over Boyle Celtic and Shiven Rovers respectively.
Castlerea Celtic beat Boyle Celtic 2 – 1 after extra time at Castlerea. Jarlath Geraghty converted a penalty kick for Castlerea Celtic with eight minutes played following a hand ball. Boyle Celtic had wind advantage in the second half and Michael Corrigan scored for them with twenty played With no further goals in the second half the game went to extra time. With five minutes left to play v eteran David Fitzpatrick scored an absolute stunner to win the game for Castlerea Celtic.

Moore United and Shiven Rovers were involved in an eight-goal thriller at Newbridge before the game went to a penalty shoot out which was won by Moore United on a 4 – 2 scoreline. Moore were 2 – 0 up at half time thanks to goals from Charles Nevin and an own goal. Josh Lennon added two more for Moore United and with fifteen minutes left to play it looked all over for Shiven Rovers. However, Gabrial Costa and his brother Lucas scored two brilliant goals for Shiven and then brothers Darragh and Keith Murphy added two more of equal quality to send the game to extra time. Moore were really rattled but held on for a penalty shoot-out. Adam Mc Manus saved two spot kicks to see Moore into the final.

Skyvalley Rovers will play Moylough 79 in the Division 1 Cup following a 2 – 0 win for the Moylough side over Ballinagare / Manor at Moylough. A Michael Foley strike and an own goal gave Moylough a place in the final. The winners will face Dunmore Town in the final.

In the Division 2 Cup Cam Celtic / Dysart are through to the final and a meeting with either St Cuans / Ahascragh or Roscommon United in the final. Cam Celtic / Dysart beat Division 2 Champions Cloonfad United 2 – 1 at Cloonfad. The home side dominated the opening half hour and squandered many chances to take the lead. They were 1 – 0 ahead thanks to an own goal scored after twenty-two minutes of play. Ben Moran levelled the game with thirty-six played. The winners tightened up their defence and Gareth Mulligan gave them a 2 – 1 lead with fifty-one played. Cloonfad could not find a way past a resolute defence and Cam Dysart held on for a win and a place in the final.

In the Quarter Final Roscommon United beat Kilkerrin United 5 – 3 in a penalty shoot-out following a 1 -1 draw after extra time in a very competitive game. Oisin Hynes scored for Kilkerrin direct from corner kick with thirty played. Daz Mainwaring created the chance for Diarmuid Mulry to level the game half way through the second half. In the resultant penalty shoot out Darren Coyle saved the second penalty kick from Kilkerrin to give his side a 5 – 3 win.

In the reserve Division Moore United kept their title hopes alive with a 3 – 0 win over leaders Dunmore Town, Ray Griffen headed a Liam Johnston cross to give Moore a lead with fifteen played and Cian Duffy added a second with thirty played following good work by Tommy Naughton. Jack Sommer added a third with fourteen left to play.

With just a game left to play Cam Celtic are a point clear from Kilkerrin United following their 3 – 0 win over Boyle Celtic at Cam. Boyle were in front with only three played thanks to Andrea Hogan but two second half goals from Grace Hannon a d Marian Nolan secured all three points for Cam Celtic
Castlerea Celtic drew 0 – 0 with Shiven Rovers at Castlerea. Shiven missed from the penalty spot but overall a draw was a fair outcome from a very competitive game..
