Congratulations are extended to Moore United who won the Premier Division Cup. They beat old rivals Castlerea Celtic 1 – 0 at the League grounds Lecarrow on Saturday evening. The teams were well matched with both sets of defenders on top. The only goal of the game came in the first period of extra time. Moore looked the more likely to score in the fist half but time and time again Jack Higgins denied them a scoring chance. Castlerea Celtic had a reasonable call for a penalty kick denied and that was their only chance in the first half. David Fitzpatrick had a half chance to score for Castlerea in the second half and Charles and Jack Nevin and Josh Lennon had shots saved by the Castlerea Celtic keeper. The winning goal came halfway through the first period of extra time when Shane dunning won a penalty kick and Charles Nevin gave the keeper no chance with a fine strike. Castlerea Celtic came close a couple of times before the end of the game but on both occasions the off side flag denied them an equaliser.

In the Semi Finals of the Connacht Shield Roscommon and District League side Cloonfad bowed out to a fancied Westport United side at Cloonfad. The home side played really well for much of the game and there was just six minutes remaining when Westport went in front. With thirty-seven on the clock Cloonfad United took the lead. Neil Morris sent Conor Flynn clear on the left wing and his perfect cross was volleyed to the Westport net by the onrushing Neil Morris.
Westport were on top in the second half but had to wait until the sixty nineth minute to level the game. They got the winner with six minutes of normal time remaining. Jack Dawson scored both goals for Westport.

The Roscommon and District League Division 1 side Ballinagare / manor United travelled to Headford where the played the Galway Championship side Moyne Villa. It was always a big ask for the League side but while beaten 3 – 2 they played really well on the day. Gerry Ward scored both goals for Ballinagare / Manor United.

Congratulations to Cam Celtic Women’s team who won the Joe Concannon sponsored Roscommon and District League Challenge Cup. They beat Castlerea Celtic 1- 0 in the final at the League Grounds Lecarrow. They had earlier won the League Championship and they have now completed the double for the second successive season.

Congratulations are also extended to Kilkerrin United women who won the Shield competition after beating Ballaghaderreen 2 – 1 at Lecarrow. This was a real sporting game with the outcome in doubt until the final whistle. Ballaghaderreen went in front with a great goal scored on the break with fifteen played. Five minutes later the sides were level thanks to a good goal by Sarah Ward. With fifty six played My Grogan’s free kick came back off the Ballaghaderreen cross bar and Aoife Collins volleyed the rebound to the Ballaghaderreen net. Both teams had chances to score near the end buy Kilkerrin United held out for a win.

Skyvalley Rovers will play Dunmore Town in the Division 1 Cup Final following a hard earned win over a talented Moylough 79 side at Onagh Park Taughmaconnell. Moylough were on top in the opening stages and Brian Croffey made three excellent saves to deny James Foley a goal in the opening twelve minutes. Moylough took the lead through Pierce Townsend with fifteen played but Shane Downey headed an Ethan Nkololo corner kick to the Moylough net with twenty-five played. Danny Lynch scored a second before half time and Keelan Galvin added a third for the winners early in the second half. Leo Donnellan made it 3 – 2 with fifteen left t play and only a super defensive performance by Skyvalley Rovers kept them in front until the end.

In The Division 1 Division 2 Promotion Relegation games Cam Celtic / Dysart drew 1 – 1. Ronan Doyle gave Cam / Dysart a 1 – 0 lead and Korey Kedian levelled the game when he scored for Roscommon United with seven minutes left to play.

St Cuans / Ahascragh United beat Kilkerrin United 3 – 0 and as runners up In Division 2 they will play Division 1 side Glen Celtic for a place in Division 1 next season. Simon Leonard Eathan O leary and Colin Concannon scored for the winners.
