Roscommon and District League Round Up by Vincent Brookes.

Boyle Celtic remain unbeaten in the Roscommon and District League Premier Division following a comfortable 4 – 0 win over Cloonfad United at Cloonfad. The ever reliable Michael Corrigan scored two and Jake Mc Crann and Callum Andrews added one each.

Moore United have won their three opening games and they sit on top of the points table. They were comfortable 4 – 2 winners over Ballinasloe Town at Falty Park, Moore. The home side were three up early in the game and while Ballinasloe pulled two back Moore ran out comfortable winners. With twenty two played Andy Nevin was on hand to turn in a low cross. His brother Charles vollied a superb second eleven minutes later. Paul Kelly added a third before the break. Darragh Concannon pulled one back for Ballinasloe Town with fifty four played but any hopes of a come back were prevented by some good goal keeping by the home keeper Paddy Reilly. With twenty one left to play Charles Nevin won a penalty and his brother Andy converted. Substitute Jordan O'Leary pulled a second back with five minutes left to play.

St. John's Athletic moved into third place thanks to a 5 – 0 win over Castlerea Celtic. Tommy Hurley scored three and Jamie Tiernan and Kevin Brennan added one each.

Moylough 79 drew 2 – 2 at home to Ballaghaderreen. The home side were 2 – 0 up after fifty two minutes but a second half revival by the visitors gave them a share of the spoils. Adam Connolly opened the scoring for the home side and Anthony Ryan added a second with seven played in the second half. Three minutes later Danny Browne latched onto a neat pass from Patrick Calaghan before scoring for Ballaghaderreen and Rossa Mc Dermott added their equaliser with fourteen minutes left to play following good work by Cormack Rushe.

Kilkerrin United beat Ballymoe F C 2 – 1 at Kilkerrin. Damien Goggins opened the scoring for Ballymoe with thirty played. However an own goal and a strike from David Madden won all three points for Kilkerrin United.

In Division 1, Shiven Rovers and Ballinagare/Manor United drew 2 – 2 at Newbridge. Rory Cunningham gave Shiven Rovers a half time lead. Gerry Ward struck twice for the visitors before Cunningham got an equaliser with six minutes left to play.

Dysart were beaten 2 – 1 at home by the Castleplunkett side C P Ajax.Darren Boyle and James Egan scored for the winners with Niall Corbett replying for the home side.

Ballinasloe Town's second side came from a goal down to beat Roscommon United 4 – 1 at Roscommon. Vando Silva scored for the home side with twenty five played and they were on top for the first half. After the break the visitors brought on some of their stronger players and with Jordan O Leary in fine form Ryan Burke, Joey O'Brien, Colm O'Brien and Conor Kenny scored a goal each.

In Division 2, Cam Celtic are top of the points table after winning their two opening games.
They beat Moore United 4 – 2 at Cam. Jack Ryan Gavin Byrne Luke Francis and Gareth Mulligan scored their goals. Substitute Charles Nevin scored both goals for Moore United.

Boye Celtic are in second place after drawing 2 – 2 with Rahara Rovers at Boyle. Declan Morris and Declan Bambridge scored for the home team. Paul Flaherty and Shane Mc Cormack scored for Rahara Rovers.

St. John's Athletic share second place after beating St Cuan's / Ahascragh United at Ahascragh.
Jamie Tiernan and Aaron Martin scored for the Lecarrow side.

Ballymoe F C beat Roscommon United 2 – 1 at Ballymoe. Kevin Kilcommins and Aaron O Toole scored for the winners and Brian Costello scored for the losers.

The Ballaghadereen v Skyvalley Rvs game was postponed while the Cloonfad v Dunmore game was not finished after an injury to a Cloonfad Player.

Congratulations are extended to the Castlerea Celtic Masters team who were crowned Champions after a hard fought 2 – 0 win over nearest challengers Glen Celtic at Castlerea.
