Roscommon and District league Premier side Cloonfad United bowed out of this season’s Connacht Cup when they were beaten at home by former Roscommon and District league side Boyle Celtic. Cloonfad United played against a strong wind in the first half and while a goal down at the interval they were confident of pulling the goal back after the break and advancing to the fifth round.
However it was the Sligo/Leitrim Champions Boyle Celtic who played better in the second half and stretched their lead to win 3–0. Liam McKilleen scored for Boyle Celtic with only two minutes played but it took a fine Kurt Reinhardt penalty save too keep Cloonfad in the game. Within five minutes of the second half Aaron Calkin and Lorcan Conboy struck again for the Boyle Celtic side.
Ballinasloe Town are through to the Division 2 Cup final following a comfortable 5–0 win over Skyvalley Rovers at Ballinasloe. Malcolm Flannery scored two and Kevin Flanagan one to give the winners a 3–0 half time lead. Ritchie Egan and Kevin Flanagan added two more after the break.
All the remaining games were victims of the inclement weather.
