Congratulations to Shiven Rovers who celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the club over the weekend. Overall it was an absolute credit to this fantastic Club and great credit is due to all for all the work done in preparation for this wonderful weekend
Onwards and upwards for this great club and good luck in your two upcoming Cup Finals.
Next Sunday sees the Final of the Joes Bar Roscommon and District League Challenge Cup.
This season’s final will see Premier Division Champions Boyle Celtic take on Division1 side Shiven Rovers. While Boyle Celtic will start favourites they should be very wary of a Shiven Rovers side who have already knocked out two Premier sides and seem to grow in confidence and determination with every game they play. While Boyle Celtic played for many seasons in the Sligo Leitrim League they did win the Challenge Cup back in the 1984 / 85 season. The Challenge Cup is the only trophy in the League that has eluded Shiven Rovers and they will be hoping to put that right on Sunday. Both teams will give it their all and a good sporting game is assured. The game kicks off at the Roscommon and District League Grounds Lecarrow on Sunday with a kick off time of 2.00 pm
