Roscommon and District League Premier side are Moore United are through to the fifth round of the Connacht Cup following a 2 – 1 win over the Galway League Championship Leaders University of Galway at Falty Park Moore. The visitors were in front by way of an own goal with twenty-three played. However, the Galway side returned the favour ten minutes later to leave the sides level at the break. Moore continued to dominate and were rewarded when Shane Dunning scored the winner with sixty-nine played.

Ballaghaderreen F C failed to advance to Round five of the Connacht Cup when they were beaten 9- 8 in a penalty shootout at the end of their game with the Mayo Super League side Ballyheane at Ballaghaderreen. The sides were level at 2 – 2 at the end of normal time and 3 – 3 at the end of extra time with all eleven players from each side taking penalty kicks to decide the outcome. Dylan Stephenson and Nathan Reilly Doyle had Ballyheane 2 – 0 up with two minutes played in the second half. However, Cian Hanley scored a superb goal for the home side and Thomas Greene levelled the game with two minutes left in normal time. Jack Tuffy restored the Ballyheane lead two minutes into the first period of extra time and Danny Browne sent the game to a penalty shoot out when he replied for the home side.

In Round 3 Division 1 side Dunmore Town were beaten 2 – 1 by the Galway Primied side Maree/ Oranmore.

In the second Round of the Connacht Shield Cloonfad United had an impressive 3 – 1 win over the Galway Championship side West United at Cloonfad. Conor Flynn was man of the match after scoring all three goals for the winners. His first came after eighteen minutes of play when he was set up by his brother Darragh.
West United levelled the game within a minute of the start of the second half. However, Cloonfad restored their lead four minutes later through Conor Flynn and he completed his hat trick with sixty played. The visitor’s keeper made a fine save from Darragh Flynn but his brother was quickly on to the rebound. West United were not helped by having a player sent off near the end and their manager was also shown a red card.

St Johns Athletic travelled to Annaghdown where they played the Galway Championship side Corrb Celtic but were beaten 2 – 1 by the home side. Simon Leonard scored for the Lecarrow based side.

Division 1 side Glen Celtic had a 3- 0 win over the Mayo Division 1 side Killala F C at Glenamaddy. The game was over as a contest at half time with the home side 3 – 0 up. Mac Dara Geraghty Darragh Keaveney and an own goal made up the three goals.

Boyle Celtic had a comfortable 5 – 0 win over the Mayo Premier Side Ballyheane. Michael Corrigan opened the scoring and Callum Andrews added two more with Edwin George and Darren Foley adding one each.

The Castleplunket side C P Ajax faced the Galway Premier Side Galway Hibs at Galway and while they were beaten 3 – 1 the scoreline does not fully reflect the game.
CP Ajax began the game strong and were in control of the first half, creating a couple of guilt edged chances but they needed better finishing to make their opening efforts count. However, Hibs broke the deadlock just before half time with a long range strike to the top left corner of the net putting them 1-0 up going in at the break.
CP took their foot off the gas in the beginning of the second half and Hibs capitalized on some poor defending scoring two goals in ten minutes leaving CP with a mountain to climb. CP did however get back into the game when Pedro was taken down in the box allowing Ryan Larkin to slot home the resulting penalty kick. CP piled on the pressure until the end but couldn’t make it count and the score remained 3-1 at FT.

Ballinagare / Manor received a walk over Castlebar Town.
Ballinasloe Town travelled to the Galway Division 1 side Cregmore / Claregalway. A clash of colours and a referee in no mood for compromise meant the game did not get played much to the annoyance of both teams.

In the Reserve Division Skyvalley Rovers beat Shiven Rovers at Onagh Park Taughmaconnell. Darragh Moore Jack Moore and Danny Lynch scored their goals.

Ballinagare / Manor United beat Roscommon United 4 -2 at Roscommon. Aaron Dowd scored two and Jamie Burke and Charlie Stokes added one each. Diarmuid Mulry and Shane Doolin replied for the losers.

In the Women’s League Ballaghaderreen beat Castlerea Celtic 3 – 2 at Ballaghaderreen.
Castlerea Celtic came from behind on two occasions and were unlucky not to get something out of the game. Rebecca Finan Caoimhe Feeney and Jessica Feeney scored for the winners with Rachel Gormley and Sarah Diggins scoreing for the Castlerea Celtic side.

Shiven Rovers were made to battle all the way before beating Kilkerrin United 2 – 1 at Newbridge. Caitlin Boyle gave Kilkerrin a 1 – 0 half time lead. Laura Farrell had the sides level with sixty-eight played and Ciara Lally scored the winner with six left to play.
