In The Norios sponsored Premier Division of the Roscommon and District League Ballinasloe Town closed the gap on leaders Boyle Celtic to three points with a game in hand- following a 2- 0 win over Moore United at Ballinasloe. Ryan Burke gave the home side a 1- 0 lead after seven minutes of play and Liam Lynch added a second four minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first half.

St Johns Athletic moved into Fourth place in this Division thanks to a hard earned 2 – 1 win over Cloonfad United at Lecarrow. Tiernan Murphy gave Cloonfad United a 1- 0 lead after twenty seven minutes of play and they were very unlucky not to go 2 – 0 up. Tommy Hurley levelled the game with sixty played and in time added on at the end of the game Darren Carroll snatched all three points for the winners.

In Division 1 Skyvalley Rovers kept their title hopes very much alive when they beat Roscommon United 5 – 2 at the League grounds Lecarrow.
The Roscommon Town side were on top in the first half and fully deserved their half time 2 – 1 lead. Vando Silva had scored their two goals. Man of the Match Callum O Brien scored four for Skyvalley Rovers and Tom Butler added a fifth.

Glen Celtic beat second placed C P Ajax 1 – 0 at Glenamaddy. Ryan Mc Hugh scored for the winners with twenty four played. The Castleplunket side created many chances but failed to score. They had a great chance of levelling the game when they won a penalty kick after seventy minutes of play but the home keeper Edmilson denied Darren Boyle.

Dysart kept their promotion hopes alive when they beat Dunmore Town 3 – 1 at Dysart. Conor Dolan James Corbett and Andy Higgins scored for Dysart.

In the third round of the Joes Bar Challenge Cup, Division 1 side Shiven Rovers beat Premier side Castlerea Celtic 4 -2 at Castlerea. Shiven Rovers had a player sent off after twenty minutes and Declan Creaton scored for Castlerea Celtic from the resultant free kick.
A fine solo goal by Adam Farrell levelled the game five minutes before half time and Cathal Dinan added a second two minutes later for the winners.
Adam Farrell volleyed a splendid third with fifty played and Castlerea Celtic’s chances of a revival was ended when they had a player sent off. Man of the match Adam Farrell won a penalty kick which was converted by Frank Kilcommins to make it 4 – 1 and with five minutes left to play Ronan Curran converted a penalty kick for the losers.

Ballinasloe Towns second side beat Premier side Ballaghaderreen 2 - 1 at Ballinasloe. Bruce Holton gave Ballaghaderreen a 1 – 0 lead with twenty five played. In the second half Dylan Keane levelled the game and Joe O Brien scored the winner for the home side against a weak Ballaghaderreen side..

In the first round of the Shield competition Ballinagare / Manor United beat Ballymoe “B” 3 – 2 at Ballymoe. Mark Kilcommins gave the home side a 1- 0 lead after eleven minutes and Alan Keane levelled the game shortly afterwards. Conor Tully restored the Ballymoe lead with fifty six played and Aaron Dowd had the side’s level a few minutes later. The ever reliable Gerry Ward scored the winner for Ballinagare / Manor United near the end.

St Cuans Ahascragh United came out on top in their game against Dunmore “ B” at Ahascragh. The game was level at the end of normal time and extra time but in the resultant penalty shootout the home side won 4 – 2. Colin Concannon and Tommy Brehony scored for St Cuans/ Ahascragh United and Gerard Higgins and Colin Comer for Dunmore during normal time.

Umar Dalton Colin Concannon Tommy Brehony and Paul Regan converted the penalty kicks for the winners while Gerard Higgins and Willie Devlin replied for Dunmore.

Ballaghaderreen took a major step towards winning the Division 2 Championship when they beat nearest challengers Skyvalley Rovers 4 – 2 in their replayed game at Taughmaconnell. Ben Feeley gave the visitors a 1 – 0 lead with forty three played but David Grehan levelled the game a minute later. Keelan Feeley and John Higgins added two more for the winners early in the second half. David Grehan pulled one back from the penalty spot after Darragh Moore was fouled but Chris Dunne sealed the win with a fine strike near the end.
