Roscommon & District League Round Up 03/11/2019

With the attention focoused on the FAI Cup Final only a couple of back fixtures were played in the Roscommon And District League.
Castlerea Celtic picked up three valuable points from their game against Moylough 79 at Castlerea.
The well organised Moylough side fully tested the Castlerea side but a first half sending off and a missed penalty proved their undoing. Only a couple of excellent saves from the Castlerea keeper denied Moylough a lead at half time. However Castlerea took full advantage of the extra player afer the break and Paul Mee had them in front inside five minutes. Ten minutes later Moylough won a penalty kick but the reliable Pierce Townsend for once missed from the spot. Darren Clabbg scored from the penalty spot with sixty five played and Eoghan O Connell added Castlerea Celtics third in time added on at the end of the game.

Ballymoe F C recorded their first League win of the season when they beat Skyvalley Rovers 3 - 1at Ballymoe. Cathal Connelly opened the scoring for the winners with seventeen player. Cathal Kelly scored a deserved equalier for Skyvalley Rovers after twenty five. The talented striker Damien Goggins restored the home sides lead ten minutes later and just when it looked like the visitors would get a point from the game Goggins struck again to seal the three points with four minutes left to play.
