In the Premier Division of the Roscommon and District League leaders Castlerea Celtic beat their bogey team Ballinasloe Town 3 - 0 under the lights at Castlerea. Darren Clabby gave the home side a 1- 0 lead with twenty one minutes played and young Eoghan O Connell added a second with two minutes played in the second half. Paul Mee sealed the three points when he added a third near the end of the game.
As a result of the win Castlerea Celtic are five points better off than nearest challengers St Peters but St Peters have a game less played.
Castlerea Celtic have just one League game left to pIay and it now looks likely that the Premier Division Championship will be decided at Mc Carthy Park Athlone when the two teams clash in a few weeks time.

St Johns Athletic beat Boyle Celtic 5 - 2 at Lecarrow. The teams were well matched for the first twenty minutes but after St Johns scored the game swung their way. Jamie Kiernan opened the scoring and Robbie Shine converted a penalty kick to give the home side a 2 - 0 hald time lead. After the break Robby Shine headed a third and Colm Cunniffe made it 4 - 0 in favour of St Johns. In the closing stages of the game Michael Corrigan scored two for Boyle Celtic and Tommy Hurley added a fifth for the winners.

Moore United had a valuable 2 - 1 win over Shiven Rovers at Newbridge to increase their chances of staying in the Premier Division next season. Charles Nevin and Josh Lennon gave Moore United a 2 - 0 lead and Luke Burke pulled a goal back for Shiven Rovers with fifteen minutes left to play.

In the third round of the Connacht Cup at Mc Carthy Park Athlone St Peters came from behind to beat fellow Premier Division side Skyvalley Rovers 4 - 3 .
Calum O Brien gave Skyvalley Rovers a 2 - 0 lead but Mark Mc Connell pulled a goal back for the winners before half time. Mark Hehir leveled the game within three minutes of the restart but Calum O Brien restored the Skyvalley Rovers lead. Mark Hehir struck again for St Peters to level the game and Darragh Concannon added a fourth for St Peters. David Grehan came within inches of levelling the game in the last minute but its St Peters who will be playing Maree Oranmore next Sunday in Round 4 of the Connacht Cup.

With the leaders Cloonfad United not Playing Dysart took full advantage and they are now top of the Norio's Division one of the Roscommon and District League. They beat neighbours Cam Celtic 5 - 1 at Cam. Dysart adapted much better to the dreadful conditions and were 4 - 0 up at the break.David Cunniffe pulled a goal back for Cam in the second half but Dyasrt added their fift near the end.Jonathan Kiernan scored two and Niall Hynes Andy Higgins and James Corbett scored one each for a Dysart side who are a point clear of Cloonfad United but with a game more played.

Ballaghaderreen FC (pictured)remain in third place two ponts behind the leaders but with two games less played. They were fully tested away to Roscommon United before pulling away in the closing stages and winning 4 - 2. Patrick Callaghan and Bruce Holton gave the winners a 2 - 0 lead with thirty played. However Roscommon United were level when Michael Hanly and Vando scored with five minutes left to play in the first half. Danny Browne brough his League total to twenty one when he scored two goals in the last quarter of the game.

The Castleplunket side C P Ajax beat Castlerea Celtic "B" 1 - 0 at Tarmon.With twenty six minutes played some good play by Timmy Burke down the left wing created an opening for Darren Burke who turned sharply before volleying to the Castlerea Celtic net. C P defended well after scoring and were deserving of their win.

In the Hanly Quarries Division 2 leaders Glen Celtic suffered a set back when beaten 2- 0 away to Boyle Celtic Celtic. Conor Deerey and the reliable Daniel Hughes scored the goals for Boyle Celtic.

With the Moore United v Manor game postponed Ballinasloe Town moved into second place thanks to a 3 - 2 win over neighbours Skyvalley Rovers. Cian Reynolds Petru Madalin and Stephen Cregg gave the home side a 3 - 0 lead. Jack Moore and Musa Choudry pulled two Back for Skyvalley Rovers before half time but despite their best efforts they failed to get an equaliser in the second half.

Ballaghaderreen beat Cloonfad United 3 - 1 at Ballaghaderreen. Cloonfad United played with a strong wind in the fisrt half but found it hard to break down the strong Ballaghaderreen defence. After the break Cameron Lunt Aaron Dowd and a good strike from Mark O Brien secured all three points for Ballaghaderreen with Sean Ruane replying for Cloonfad United.

St Johns Athletic beat St Cuans 7=3 in their Division 2 game. Young M. J. O Connor was easily man of the match after scoring five for the winners. Derek Doyle and Jack Martin added one each to complete the scoring. Liam O Connor and David Hanrahan replied for the Castleblaikney side.
